For Immediate Release: August 21, 2019

Calgary, Alberta – Now entering its 45th season, Lunchbox Theatre is looking for your support as they launch a new fundraising initiative to raise $45,000 by September 30, 2019.

After weathering the storm of Alberta’s economic downturn for several years, the organization is seeking donations from individual donors and businesses. Coupled with an abrupt shift in government funding, the organization is facing an impending crisis.

”Lunchbox Theatre is a one of a kind theatrical institution in Canada and has been a cultural treasure in Calgary for 44 years,” said Duval Lang, Chair of the Lunchbox Theatre Board of Directors. “This is a challenging time for arts organizations in our community and Lunchbox Theatre is feeling the pinch.”

Lunchbox Theatre has been a mainstay in the Calgary arts scene since its inception in 1975, and wants to continue producing new work, supporting emerging talent, and bringing Calgarians original one-act theatre with heart.
