Things to know about ushering at Lunchbox Theatre

· We produce our shows in Vertigo Theaters Studio space in the same building as the Calgary Tower on 9th Ave.

· Standard show times are 12pm Tuesday to Saturday with an additional show at 7pm Friday, 4pm Saturdays & 1:30pm on Sundays. Please be aware that for The Dark Lady and Kisapmata for the second and third week of the run the Wednesday 12pm and Saturday 4pm are 7pm curtains.

· Our shows tend to run 50-60 minutes in length not including the preshow speech

· Covid protocols (as of Jan 2, 2023) volunteers are not required to be masked while they are in the space, masks are welcome if you prefer***. You are not required to be vaccinated to usher or to sell raffle tickets.

· Preferred Dress code is black pants, white top, button up, but neat and tidy is what we are after in case you don't have the others.

· Volunteer shifts start 60 minutes before the show starts.

· The Front of House team will lead you through your position (ticket scanner, theatre doors, inside the theatre or raffle tickets) once everyone has arrived, as well as a short safety chat about fire exits.

· The doors for the public open around 30 minutes for the show.

· There are seats reserved for volunteers for each performance for you to enjoy the show.

· You are welcome to eat your lunch during the show

  • There is a talkback scheduled after the performance on the 2nd and 3rd Thursday of each play, volunteers that day will need to remain longer.

  • The 1st Sunday of each run is a Relaxed environment with with either ASL interrupters or Audio Descriptions available.

  • ***Masked Friendly Performance’s - Volunteers will have to be masked for the following shows:

Our priority is providing a safe environment for our patrons, staff, volunteers and artists. In an effort to support the comfort levels of all our guests, Lunchbox Theatre has made the decision to offer select Masked Performances this season. This decision was made to address the accommodations requested by some of our patrons, either for preference or personal health reasons. We hope this option gives reassurance of Lunchbox Theatre's support of all our patrons, and ask that all in attendance respect these special accommodations for these performances.
